Outreach Overview and FAQ
Living Ambitions outreach service is similar to our supported living services by which staff call in to support people in their own homes. Outreach services are generally accessed for specific things such as shopping, attending social and community clubs, undertaking activities such as swimming, going to work, going to college or accessing programmes in the local communities
Outreach services can be for any number of hours per week and are designed and planned to be flexible to meet different needs at different times

FAQ
-
Who decides what I do when I get Outreach Support?
Normally, the person who is receiving the support is the one who decides and this is agreed as part of a support plan. Sometimes, Outreach services are used for a specific task such as helping someone to attend college or work.
-
Will the same staff support me on all services?
Yes, Living Ambitions will try to make sure that the same trained staff member are with people for each session. We also introduce a second worker to cover holidays, sick leave or any other reason that the outreach worker is unavailable. There will always, therefore, be staff workers that people know, to provide support.
-
Who pays for staff workers and food?
People who access the services will generally need to pay for the staff to do activities, attend college or go for a meal etc. Many places let support workers in for free if they are working. There are strict rules, however, about the level of food/meals etc, that Living Ambitions staff can claim when working
-
What happens if an Outreach service is not required one day?
If outreach services are not required for a day and providing Living Ambitions are contacted the day before, we can cancel the session and bank the hours. Sadly if not enough notice is given, we may have to charge for the session
-
Who pays for Outreach services?
Usually outreach is paid for by the local authority, however if people/family carers hold an individual budget, or have private money to fund the services, then Living Ambitions can take payment directly
